Weaving has become a way of life for me now - and what a great way to live a life! I have been dyeing and spinning fibres for many years but now I have added weaving to my set of skills, I feel complete. People often ask me where I get my sense of colour from. The amazing and varied colours of flowers are always a favourite but I am continually aware of the world around me, and living in a beautiful part of the country by the sea and the Sussex Downs is a constant delight. I realise that I am also greatly affected by the seasons. Last Autumn I was asked to weave a jacket in Spring colours. I found it incredibly difficult, where now, as I write this, it is Summer and I should find it very difficult to weave winter colours. I guess I just need to go with the flow....and remain true to myself!! In the Gallery I have added photos of my art journals and other sources of inspiration which in turn affect the colours of my weavings.
